Clock Issues and Clock Skew

Computer clocks do not remain perfectly synchronized. Clock skew can make timestamps disagree about event order, expire a lease too early, or make a valid certificate appear outside its valid time window.

One useful chaos-engineering experiment changes a test node's clock offset and verifies that leader election, authentication, and monitoring fail safely.
